It is a darrrk and drrrearrry day, as my Scottish dad used to say. Definitely feels like fall and the bluegrass festival season is winding down.
We have a couple gigs coming up - October 2nd at Monticell and October 9th at Ely over the lunch hour from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We're looking forward to both.
Recently we played at a charming cottage on the Iowa River, for a busload of lively "Young at Heart" folks and had a wonderful time. Also played at the Bertram town homecoming picnic and that night did a short set at a wine and music event at Coggon (rather chilly, but fun). Got to hear our friends, Castle Ridge, play as well. As a result we had to miss all the fun at the festival in Bloomfield this year ... maybe next year.
We are looking forward to the IBMA (Iowa Bluegrass Music Association) festival the end of October and hope to see some of our pickin' buddies there.
